ShootProof launches new features

The one thing Sal and I preach about constantly, is efficiency.  Without it your business (and sanity) will drown in a sea of endless to dos and disorganization. This will impact your growth and your customer experience – all costing you major cash. Some of the key elements to growth include organization and efficiency, and as photographers, we are typically a one or two-man show, so having tools that give us those key elements becomes priceless.

ShootProof has been our proofing gallery of choice for these very reasons.  Features like automatic email reminders and being able to view my client’s favorite images to use in building some of their products like albums and slideshows have eliminated a lot of the headache of the process for our studio.

Their user interface has always been clean, simple, and easy to understand and now their latest updates take everything to the next level.

While ShootProof has definitely saved me a lot of time with their efficient features, these next few updates are going to be a game changer.

New Feature #1 // Create custom labels or folders

The ability to create custom “labels” (or folders) for clients is huge.  What does this mean?  Well, when I sell a client a package, that package includes an album, a slideshow, Facebook posting, etc.  With each of these items they may want to pick different images to fill the order.  Enter LABELS!  Now I can create my “Slideshow” label “Album” label and on and on!  Now my clients can pick their favorite images PER PRODUCT.

Once they pick their favorites I can now download them or….

New Feature #2 // ProShow Web integration

ProShow Web Integration.  Now I can send the pictures my client saved for their slideshow right to ProShow for slideshow creation. Talk about seamless.  Before I would download the photos, import them into Lightroom, export to ProShow with my special slideshow settings, and lose 15 minutes of my life.  Now I’ve saved mega amounts of time.

New Feature #3 // Hide your photo feature

Hiding. Sounds funny I know, but I have actually had several cases (mostly with neurotic brides) where they didn’t care for a photo of themselves and asked that it be removed from their gallery (insert waste of time).  Now instead of me logging in, finding the photo, removing it, notifying the client…the client can choose to hide any photo they wish from any other viewers.  Simply set link a main contact to the gallery (for a wedding this would be your bride).

Now as your bride is viewing her gallery, if she finds an unflattering or too revealing image that she wants to protect grandma from… she clicks a button, DONE!  I’ve now saved at least 15 minutes of my precious time.

New Feature #4 // New Cover Styles

ShootProof’s intro pages are already way more advanced than any other proofing gallery I’ve found, but now they’ve just outdone themselves.  These not only look great for proofing gallery, they look great for a website.  I can’t wait to introduce these new styles to my clients.

Final thoughts

Below is my email to my clients that shows you how I communicate all of this awesomeness.

My clients already tell me how easy our gallery is to use all the time.  My online orders speak for themselves.  Previously orders after a viewing session were negligible, now I see online orders for several hundred dollars, and I have no doubt in my mind that is in part thanks to ShootProof.

Outdoor Portraits Using a Reflector // Westcott Fusion

Harsh sunlight? No problem. You can create stunning portraits with nothing more than a reflector and clever use of blocking techniques. In this photography lighting tutorial, we use the Westcott Fusion which gives us several variations for lighting control.

Natural light photography doesn’t have to be flat and boring. Using a reflector can add dimension and that pop of life into your subjects eyes. If you have ever wondered how to use a reflector for outdoor photography – this video is for you.
