I feel the image is lacking expression, emotion, connection. Sometimes, as we're doing critiques, we're looking at the obvious. We're looking at lighting, we're looking at posing. Here, I'm just struggling with the connection of our subject. Maybe that's the goal, but these are things you want to be looking at.

I'm seeing what I'm going to assume it's just more of a street photography shot, a photojournalistic shot. But look at the end of the day, just because it's street photography doesn't mean that the rules of photography go out the window.

I love this image, let's call this "Til Death Do Us Part.” It's got that romantic feeling, and I love the almost-kiss. This is a really good image. Immediately, I want to jump into what we can do to make this image better. Let’s start with the bright spots.

The first thing I see in this photo is the chair. It looks like they took a picture of a back of a chair. Here’s the deal, I’m always going to acknowledge when I’m not sure what the goal is of an image, and this is one of those images.

I can’t tell if this is a senior shot or a Quinceañera, but it’s a beautiful shot. In and of itself, this is a strong shot but let’s dig into what we can do to make it better.
